About the Tour
Embark on a memorable biking adventure down the stunning slopes of Haleakalā. The Haleakala Day Journey starts at an elevation of 6,500 feet and ends 26 miles later at the beautiful Paia Beach Park.
The tour begins at the Mountain Riders headquarters, where guests enjoy juice, light snacks, and a comprehensive safety orientation, including Maui’s only certified safety video for bike tours. Following this, guests board a guided van for an educational ride to the summit.
What to Expect
During the ascent, our experienced guides share fascinating insights into Haleakalā National Park, including its geology, unique wildlife, and cultural history. At the summit, guests are equipped with state-of-the-art Volcano Chrome Cruiser bikes and safety-certified helmets.
The ride descends through the winding roads of Haleakalā Ranch and continues through Maui’s picturesque upcountry towns, including Kula and Makawao, before concluding in the beachside community of Paia. A stop is made in either Makawao or Paia for a no-host lunch where guests can enjoy refreshments or shop locally.
