Continue the journey with a scenic walk through a forest of native Hawaiian plants, ending at the majestic Iao Needle—a towering 1,200-foot rock formation that stands proudly over Iao Valley. This valley is not only a stunning natural landmark but also holds deep historical significance as the final resting place of Hawaiian royalty.

• Haleakala National Park: Home to more than 1,000 species of plants, this park is a must-see. The 38-mile drive up the dormant volcano offers an up-close look at the rare Silversword plant, native only to this area, along with stunning views and sacred sites.

• Haleakala’s History: Formed by layers of lava flow over 1 million years ago, Haleakala has long been a sacred site for Polynesian settlers, dating back to 400-650 A.D.

• Visitor Center: At an elevation of 9,740 feet, the Haleakala Visitor Center is a historical stone structure dating back to 1936, offering unparalleled views of the island below.

• Health Considerations: This tour involves high altitudes, making it unsuitable for guests with heart or respiratory issues. Pregnant women and those with motion sickness are also advised to refrain from participating.

• Scuba Diving Reminder: If you’ve been scuba diving, please wait at least 72 hours before joining the tour to ensure your safety.

Restrictions

• This tour is not recommended for pregnant women or those with heart, respiratory, back, or motion-related health issues.

Prices

• US$247: Adults (Ages 12+)

• US$136: Children (Ages 3-11) – Must book an adult ticket first

• Free: Infants (Ages 2 and under) – Must book an adult ticket first. Infants will sit on the adult’s lap.

Cancellations

• 48 Hours Notice: Full refund if cancellation is made at least 48 hours prior to tour departure. No-shows will incur a full charge.

• Maui Haleakala Sunrise Tours: Requires 72 hours advance notice for cancellations.

• One Day Tours and One Day Tours with Helicopter: Full refund if cancellation notice is received up to 168 hours (7 days) prior to the airport meeting time.

• Rebooking: Once a tour is rebooked, cancellations or refunds will not be allowed.

• Weather or Force Majeure: No refunds or partial refunds for tours, activities, flights, or venues canceled due to reasons outside of our control (e.g., weather, force majeure).

• Flight Schedule Changes: Inter-island airline flight schedules are subject to change by the carrier and may be unavailable at the current tour price. Alternative flights may be available for an additional fee, subject to availability, and must be paid in full at the time of booking. These fees are non-commissionable and non-refundable.

• Refunds for Illness: Refunds for illness will be considered on a case-by-case basis. A valid doctor’s note must be submitted within 5 days for each guest requesting a refund due to illness.

• Minimum Participant Requirement: Some tours require a minimum number of participants. If the minimum is not met, guests will be refunded or offered the chance to rebook on a similar tour/product based on availability, which may incur additional costs.
